Real Madrid shut door on Arsenal’s latest Endrick enquiry

Arsenal have made an initial approach to Real Madrid about signing Brazil forward Endrick, but the Spanish club have no intention of allowing the 19-year-old to leave during the current transfer window.

The Premier League club had been prepared to test Real Madrid’s resolve with a formal offer after holding early discussions over the player, according to talkSPORT. Arsenal’s interest follows their unsuccessful attempt to sign Endrick’s Brazil team-mate and Real Madrid colleague Vinicius Junior.

Arsenal are looking to add another attacking option to their squad as they prepare to compete for the Premier League and the Champions League. Club officials believe Endrick’s limited involvement in Real Madrid’s first team could potentially create an opportunity to negotiate a deal.

However, that assessment has not altered Real Madrid’s position. Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that the Spanish club are not considering Endrick’s departure this summer, despite Arsenal’s request to discuss his availability.

Endrick joined Real Madrid from Palmeiras in 2024 but has so far struggled to secure regular first-team football. He spent last season on loan at Lyon, where regular appearances helped him regain his form. During 21 matches, he scored eight goals and provided eight assists.

Competition for attacking places at Real Madrid has increased following the arrival of Carlos Espai, who also scored during the opening round of the league season against Espanyol. Arsenal viewed that growing battle for places as another reason to explore whether Endrick might be available.

The London club’s approach has nevertheless met a firm response from Real Madrid. The player is regarded by the Spanish side as an important part of their plans for the future, and the decision to retain him is supported by manager Jose Mourinho and the club’s board.

Real Madrid’s stance means Arsenal’s latest attempt to recruit one of Brazil’s leading young attacking talents is unlikely to progress during the current window. The Spanish club have closed the door on a move, while Endrick himself has no plans to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.

The forward remains committed to continuing his career with Real Madrid and is not seeking a transfer. Arsenal must therefore look elsewhere for the additional attacking option they want before the club’s campaigns in domestic competition and Europe get under way.

The move for Endrick represented a second attempt by Arsenal to recruit a Brazilian forward from Real Madrid after their efforts to sign Vinicius Junior failed. In both cases, the Spanish club have made clear that they are unwilling to surrender a key part of their long-term plans.

For now, Endrick’s future remains in Madrid, with Real Madrid determined to keep the young striker and the player equally keen to stay.
