Real Madrid reportedly reach agreement to sign Franco-Guinean defender Dayot Upamecano
Spanish giants Real Madrid have reportedly reach a verbal agreement with France international of Guinea-Bissau descent, Dayot Upamecano, over a possible acquisition.
The 27-year-old, who is in the final year of his contract at Bayern Munich has yet to sign a new deal for the German giants, sparking controversies about his future.
Currently, Upamecano’s future at Bayern Munich hangs in the balance, as effort to extend his contract has proved futile.
Upamecano will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside Germany, with several clubs expressing huge interest in the defender.
According to reports, the Spanish giants has reached a verbal agreement to sign the defender as a free agent next summer.
Meanwhile, Sporting Director of Bayern Munich Max Eberl insists the side are poised to keep hold of Upamecano.
“Upa has developed into one of the best centre-backs in the world. He went through a phase where he made a few mistakes. We’ll do everything we can to make sure he stays,” Eberl told Sky.
Upamecano has made 18 appearances for Bayern Munich across competitions this season, providing an assist.
