Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has reportedly retained his interest in Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, despite the German champions having no intention of selling the France international during the current transfer window.

Olise is said to remain one of Pérez’s preferred long-term targets, with the Spanish giants reportedly prepared to revisit a move in a future transfer window if the opportunity arises.

Pérez sees Olise as long-term target

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Real Madrid president remains a strong admirer of the 24-year-old and believes he would be an ideal addition to the club’s attacking options.

However, any immediate move appears unlikely as Bayern Munich consider the winger an integral part of their plans and are unwilling to entertain offers this summer.

With Olise under contract until 2029, Real Madrid may have to wait until next summer—or even later—before attempting to negotiate a deal.

Bayern determined to keep winger

Olise has become an important player for Bayern since joining the Bundesliga champions, prompting the club to rule out a transfer during the current window.

Despite Bayern’s firm stance, reports suggest Real Madrid have not abandoned their pursuit and will continue to monitor the Frenchman’s situation over the coming seasons.

Competition for places at Madrid

Real Madrid already boast one of Europe’s strongest attacking units, featuring the likes of Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior and Arda Güler.

Even so, Pérez reportedly believes Olise possesses the quality and versatility to further strengthen the club’s forward line, making him a player the European giants could target again when circumstances become more favourable.
