Real Madrid ready to terminate contract of Austrian-Nigerian defender David Alaba
Spanish giants Real Madrid are reportedly ready to terminate the contract of Austria international of Nigerian descent David Alaba ahead of the winter transfer window.
Alaba, whose contract expires at the end of the season has yet to sign a new deal with the club, sparking concerns about his future.
However, Turkish giants Galatasaray, have set sights on securing the services of the experience defender, with Real Madrid open to sanctioning his departure as early as January window.
The Spanish giants is even ready to terminate the contract of the former Bayern Munich marksman in an attempt to grant him a free agent status.
For Alaba, he has no burning desire to leave Real Madrid. Last summer, he was already offered an early contract termination with compensation for half of his salary for the final year, but the defender opted to stay, aiming for more playing time and to retain his full wage despite fierce competition for a spot in the lineup.
The 33-year-old defender has been limited to just four appearances across competitions for Real Madrid due to persistent injury setbacks.
Alaba joined Real Madrid in summer 2021 and established himself as a key member of the team until injuries ruined career in Spain. The enterprising defender has two Champions League titles to his name at Madrid.
