Real Madrid confident over Vinicius Jr contract renewal
Real Madrid remain relaxed about Vinicius Jr’s contract situation and expect the Brazilian to sign a new deal once he returns from his post-World Cup holiday.
Club sources cited by Marca say Los Blancos see no cause for alarm and are confident negotiations will end positively for both sides.
Formal talks are scheduled to begin after Vinicius completes his mandatory three-week break following Brazil’s elimination by Norway at the World Cup. Before the tournament, the winger made it clear he would only address his Real Madrid future once the competition was over, a stance the club fully accepted. Inside the Bernabeu, there is a strong belief that he wants to stay and continue leading their attack.
Technically, time is not on Madrid’s side. On 1 January 2027, Vinicius will enter the final six months of his current contract, at which point he would be free to negotiate with foreign clubs. Even so, both Real Madrid and the 26-year-old are reported to see no reason to part ways, and the club are optimistic that an extension will be agreed later this month.
