Real Madrid are confident that Brahim Díaz has overcome the psychological impact of Morocco’s heartbreaking defeat in the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The promising attacker enjoyed an outstanding individual tournament, finishing as AFCON’s top scorer with five goals.
However, the final ended in disappointment, as Díaz missed a late penalty in regulation time before Morocco went on to lose 1–0 to Senegal after extra time.
According to reports from Spain, Díaz has now “fully recovered” from the emotional aftermath of the final, easing any concerns within the Real Madrid camp following the painful loss.
Club officials believe the attacker has handled the setback maturely and returned from international duty in positive spirits.
There is confidence at the Santiago Bernabéu that the AFCON experience — combining personal success with collective disappointment — will ultimately help strengthen Díaz’s mentality rather than leave lasting psychological scars.
Díaz has featured in 19 matches for Los Blancos across all competitions this season, registering one goal and two assists.
After returning to the club from the AFCON, Diaz was in action as Real Madrid recorded a 2-0 win against Villarreal.
