Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez took the stage at the club’s General Assembly on Sunday, delivering key messages that highlighted the club’s ongoing commitment to its star players and recent signings. Among the notable discussions was the club’s continued support for Vinicius Junior, as well as the successful acquisition of Kylian Mbappé.
Pérez opened his address by offering a strong show of support for Vinicius Junior, who had been overlooked for the 2024 Ballon d’Or despite his standout performances.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the president expressed deep pride in the Brazilian forward’s resilience and talent.
“We are proud of a player like Vinicius. For us, and for most football fans, he is the best player in the world,” Pérez remarked.
He continued with a message of solidarity: “Dear Vini, I want you to know that Real Madrid is proud of you, of everything you have had to endure on many occasions, unfairly. These trials have forged the exceptional player that you are today.”
Pérez also addressed the high-profile arrival of Kylian Mbappé, whose much-anticipated move to Madrid came to fruition this summer after months of speculation.
“Mbappé’s arrival was one of the defining moments in the world of football,” Pérez said, emphasizing the effort the French forward made to secure his transfer.
“As I said that day, he made a huge effort, far beyond what many can imagine. He has already helped us win our first title: the European Super Cup.”
The Madrid president also paid tribute to two club icons who left this summer, Toni Kroos and Joselu Mato, both of whom had been instrumental in Real Madrid’s success in recent years.
The club’s leadership acknowledged their contributions and wished them well in their next chapters.
