England international of Ivory Coast descent Marc Guehi has emerged as a transfer target for Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona following his failed move to Liverpool in the summer window.

Guehi, who is in the books of Premier League outfit Crystal Palace had undergone a successful medical to join Liverpool, only for the Eagles to block the move.

Liverpool submitted a 35 million pounds offer to capture Guehi, but Palace were reluctant to sanction a move for the defender after failing to land a replacement on transfer deadline day.

With his current contract expiring in summer 2026, the Premier League club now risk losing Guehi for free next summer, with several clubs expressing interest.

Per reports, Spanish football heavyweights Real Madrid and Barcelona are now showing interest in the Eagles’ captain. Starting in January, Guehi can agree a pre-contract with any club to finalize a move on July 1, but there’s no guarantee that Liverpool will be his destination.

Meanwhile, Guehi is expected to play a huge role for Crystal Palace in the 2025/26 football campaign.
