Achraf Hakimi, currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund and sidelined with a metatarsal injury, has expressed his desire to return to Real Madrid after his two-year stint in Germany. However, his return could come sooner than planned, as his loan is set to expire in June 2021.
According to AS, Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is keen to bring Hakimi back this summer. The French manager has been impressed by the Moroccan’s performances and envisions him competing with Daniel Carvajal and Alvaro Odriozola for a place in the team.
For Hakimi’s early return to materialize, Borussia Dortmund would need to agree to let the player leave before the end of his loan. The situation remains under discussion as both clubs evaluate their options ahead of the next season.
