James Rodriguez Jersey Sales Claims Disputed by Adidas Madrid
Following his high-profile transfer to Real Madrid from AS Monaco for over €80 million, James Rodriguez has generated significant buzz among fans eager to show their support. Reports emerged online suggesting that an astonishing 345,000 James Rodriguez jerseys were sold within 48 hours of his arrival, with some sources claiming the figure reached 415,000 in just 72 hours.
However, these numbers have been challenged by the Madrid-based Adidas office, the official kit supplier for Real Madrid. Speaking to ESPN, Adidas Madrid described the reported sales figures as “false” and “far from reality.”
According to Adidas, Real Madrid typically sells around 1.4 million shirts annually. Given this context, the claim that James Rodriguez alone accounted for up to nearly half of the club’s annual sales in a matter of days seems highly unlikely.
While James Rodriguez’s transfer has certainly excited the fanbase, the actual impact on merchandise sales remains unclear amid these conflicting reports.
