RCFC add Hong Kong-Cameroon winger Awal Mahama on free transfer

Awal Mahama, the 35-year-old Hong Kong-Cameroonian right winger, has joined RCFC from Southern on a free transfer.

Mahama moves from the Hong Kong Premier League to RCFC in the Hong Kong First Division, completing a switch between two clubs competing in Hong Kong football. The transfer was completed on 18 August 2026.

His arrival gives RCFC an experienced wide player for their First Division campaign. Mahama’s listed position is right winger, while his dual Hong Kong and Cameroon nationality adds an international dimension to the squad.

Mahama had been with Southern before making the move. He now begins a new chapter with RCFC after leaving the Premier League club without a transfer fee being paid.

The move to RCFC is a free transfer.
