RC Lens moves to sign Senegalese goalkeeper Yehvann Diouf amid Koffi transfer

RC Lens is poised to strengthen its goalkeeping department with the imminent signing of Senegalese shot-stopper Yehvann Diouf from Stade Reims.

The 25-year-old, who has two years remaining on his contract with Reims, is expected to join Lens this summer in a deal reportedly valued at around €12 million.

This transfer follows the anticipated departure of Hervé Koffi, who remains under contract at Lens until 2028 but is set to leave the club.

The anticipated exit of Koffi is seen as a key move in balancing the club’s wage bill, freeing resources to secure Diouf’s services.

Diouf first emerged on Lens’s radar under former coach Will Still, who identified the goalkeeper as a priority target. Even after Still’s exit, Lens’s management has maintained their interest in Diouf, impressed by his performances and potential.

This pursuit has gained momentum with the opening of the summer transfer window, signalling Lens’s clear intent to bolster their squad in goal.

The Senegal international has developed a reputation for composure and agility between the posts. His consistent displays at Stade Reims, including solid performances in Ligue 1, have earned him recognition both domestically and internationally.

At 25, Diouf is approaching the peak years for a goalkeeper, bringing a balance of experience and room for growth.

For RC Lens, who are looking to build a competitive squad for the upcoming season, Diouf’s arrival would mark a significant investment in a crucial position.

The club has been actively reshaping its roster ahead of the new campaign, with an emphasis on sustainable spending and strategic acquisitions.

Securing Diouf would not only reinforce Lens’s defensive stability but also signal their ambition to compete strongly in Ligue 1 and potentially European competitions. With a transfer fee around €12 million, the club is expected to invest significantly to bring the Senegalese goalkeeper to the Stade Bollaert-Delelis.

Diouf’s arrival could see him quickly establish himself as the first-choice goalkeeper, especially if Koffi’s departure is confirmed. This move aligns with Lens’s broader vision of cultivating a squad capable of sustained success, blending emerging talents with experienced professionals.

As the summer transfer market progresses, all eyes will be on RC Lens to see how they integrate Diouf and other new signings into the squad. For Diouf, this move represents an opportunity to elevate his career and demonstrate his abilities on a bigger stage with a club eager to challenge at higher levels.

With negotiations underway and the club reportedly ready to finalize terms, it appears that Lens is set to conclude one of the summer’s more significant goalkeeper transfers. The coming weeks will reveal how this strategic acquisition fits into Lens’s plans for a promising season ahead.
