French Ligue 1 side, RC Lens, is reportedly interested in signing Burkina Faso international Lassina Traoré to strengthen their squad.
The club faces competition from fellow French top-flight team Stade de Reims, which has also expressed interest in the 23-year-old forward.
Currently playing for Shakhtar Donetsk, Traoré has quietly but effectively showcased his talent. Despite maintaining a low profile, his performances have not gone unnoticed by French clubs.
According to reports from several sources on Thursday, December 19, RC Lens is preparing to submit an offer to the Ukrainian club for the Burkinabe attacker.
The interest from Lens comes in the wake of injuries to key players Wesley Saïd and Martín Satriano, prompting the club’s management to seek offensive reinforcements to meet their competitive ambitions.
Lens is reportedly willing to activate Traoré’s release clause to secure the transfer.
Meanwhile, Stade de Reims remains a strong contender in the race. Leveraging its past connections with the player, the Champagne-based club hopes to sway Traoré into joining their ranks.
With both clubs determined to secure his services, the competition is expected to intensify in the weeks ahead.
