RB Leipzig’s struggles in the UEFA Champions League continued on Tuesday as they suffered a 0-1 defeat to Inter Milan, marking their fifth consecutive loss.
With zero points from five games, the Saxons face the grim possibility of an early exit from the competition.
In an already difficult match, Leipzig’s injury crisis worsened when Assan Ouedraogo, the talented German-born Burkinabe youngster, was forced off the field. The injury occurred without any external contact from an opponent, leaving the 18-year-old visibly in discomfort.
Leipzig head coach Marco Rose expressed his initial concern, fearing a knee injury, but thankfully it was confirmed to be a hamstring issue. “He got stuck in the grass, and then it pulled into the back of his thigh,” Rose explained.
While the full extent of the injury is still unclear, it’s expected that Ouedraogo could miss Leipzig’s upcoming Bundesliga clash with VfL Wolfsburg on November 30. His recovery timeline could extend to several weeks.
