German Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig have ruled out the January transfer of Ivorian winger Yan Diomande.
Recent reports suggested that Bayern Munich are in the market for a young attacking talent, preferably for the left wing, with Yan Diomande and 1. FC Köln’s Said El Mala mentioned among the players under consideration. However, Leipzig have made it clear that Diomande will not be available midway through the season.
According to Sky reporter Philipp Hinze, who closely follows developments around the Saxony-based club, a winter transfer for Diomande is completely off the table.
Any potential move, if it materialises, would only be considered in the summer, with RB Leipzig retaining full control over the player’s valuation.
Hinze further noted that Diomande does not have a release clause in his contract for next summer.
While Leipzig acknowledge that the winger may not remain at the club in the long term, they are in no rush to sell and intend to set the transfer fee themselves.
Both the club and the player are reportedly pleased with his development and the progress he continues to make.
Diomande, who is currently in Morocco with the Ivorian national team, was in action on Tuesday and helped the Elephants to beat Burkina Faso 3-0 to qualify for the quarter-finals.
