Leipzig faces Real Madrid in UEFA Champions League clash without midfield maestro Amadou Haidara

German Bundesliga club RB Leipzig are reportedly ready to sever ties with Malian international Amadou Haidara in the January transfer window.

According to German outlet Bild, the 27-year-old no longer features in the club’s long-term plans despite being under contract until the summer of 2026.

The report adds that Leipzig’s hierarchy is keen to facilitate his departure this winter to offload his substantial annual salary of around €5 million.

Haidara, who joined the Red Bulls from RB Salzburg in 2019, has yet to feature in a competitive game for Leipzig this season, largely due to a muscle injury.

However, he recently returned to full fitness and made his international comeback for Mali last week.

The decision marks a turning point for the midfielder, who has made over 150 appearances for Leipzig but appears set for a new challenge when the January window opens.

So far, there are no reports of any interest from clubs. Due to his quality, it won’t come as a surprise in the coming months if clubs line up to secure his signature.
