However, Leipzig’s latest statement has raised questions over whether the deal has been completed.

Leipzig welcome Diomande back

The German club confirmed that Diomande had returned to their training camp after recovering from an infection.

Leipzig wrote on their official social media accounts:

“Welcome back to the training camp, Jan… After recovering from the infection, Jan Diomande has returned to training.”

According to Spanish newspaper AS, the message was viewed as a sign that Leipzig still consider the Ivorian part of their squad and that no final agreement has been reached with Real Madrid.

Transfer negotiations continue

It had previously been reported that the transfer was effectively complete, with Diomande expected to leave Leipzig and not join his current teammates for pre-season preparations.

But the absence of a final agreement between the two clubs has prolonged negotiations and delayed the player’s move to the Santiago Bernabéu.

Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to invest more than €100 million to secure the services of the talented winger, but outstanding details must still be resolved before the deal can be officially concluded.
