Razak Boukari Faces Another Setback with New Injury at Wolverhampton
Razak Boukari’s streak of misfortune continues as the Togolese midfielder suffers yet another injury, casting doubt over his ability to finally secure consistent playing time. After returning to Wolverhampton Wanderers following a year-long loan spell at Sochaux, Boukari was sidelined again during a pre-season friendly against Telford on July 22.
Starting the match, the former Rennes player lasted only 30 minutes before collapsing on the pitch. Medical assessments revealed a thigh injury that will keep him out of action for approximately six weeks. Wolverhampton’s manager Kenny Jackett expressed frustration, saying, “It’s very disappointing that Boukari is injured again. He’s such a talented boy. In the two years he’s been here, he’s never really played. We wonder what the problem is. He came back well for this pre-season.”
Boukari’s recurring injuries have hampered his career at Wolves since his arrival in 2012. The midfielder has made only six Championship appearances and has yet to feature under Jackett’s management. This latest setback also threatens ongoing loan negotiations, further complicating the midfielder’s future at the club.
