Rayo Vallecano rejects Eintracht Frankfurt's Nobel Mendy bid

Eintracht Frankfurt have made a serious move for Nobel Mendy, but their opening offer has already been turned down by Rayo Vallecano.

According to Matteo Moretto, the Bundesliga club put forward a bid of around 15 million euros for the 21-year-old Senegalese centre-back, only to see it rejected immediately.

Frankfurt’s interest is no surprise. Mendy has been on their radar for some time and is viewed as one of the most promising left-footed defenders of his age group. He is under contract with Rayo until 2030, which gives the Spanish club strong negotiating power and little reason to sell cheaply after finishing eighth in La Liga last season.

The Bundesliga side are not limiting themselves to just one target, though. Víctor Valdepeñas of Real Madrid is also being tracked closely, and Frankfurt are believed to be pushing for him as well. His name has been linked with the club for months, and he remains a live option as the Eagles continue to assess their defensive options.

For now, Mendy appears to be Frankfurt’s more concrete target, but the first response from Spain suggests a deal will not be straightforward. The club may have to raise their offer if they want to land one of La Liga’s most intriguing young defenders.
