Rayane Messi: Strasbourg’s Franco-Cameroonian winger linked with FC Luzern move
Rayane Messi, the France-Cameroon left winger currently at RC Strasbourg Alsace, is being linked with a move to Swiss Super League side FC Luzern. The 19-year-old, under contract at Strasbourg until 30 June 2030, has emerged as a potential target after a year marked by frequent movement and growing senior experience.
Messi returned to Strasbourg this summer following the end of a loan spell at Saudi Pro League club NEOM SC, where he made 13 league appearances, scoring once and providing one assist. Earlier in the same 2025-26 season he had been loaned to Pau FC, featuring in Ligue 2 and continuing a rapid rise that has seen his market value reach €2.8 million as of early June.
Born in Sevres and standing at 1.75m, Messi is a right-footed attacker who operates primarily on the left flank. Strasbourg initially brought him into their B team from Dijon’s U19s in August 2024 for a reported €1.5 million fee, before promoting him to the first team in July 2025 and then using back-to-back loans to accelerate his development.
His senior minutes have come across France’s lower divisions, cup competitions and the Saudi top flight, with his most recent club campaign including regular game time and contributions in front of goal. With Strasbourg committed to a long-term deal and Luzern exploring ways to strengthen their attacking options, any agreement is expected to hinge on whether the French club prefer a permanent sale or another loan while protecting their asset’s value under a contract that still has four years to run.
