Olympique Lyonnais are standing firm on retaining their prized playmaker, Rayan Cherki, despite mounting interest from Europe’s elite clubs.
According to L’Équipe, Lyon will only entertain a winter transfer if a significant offer lands on their table—a clear nod to Liverpool, who are reportedly keen on the 21-year-old.
Cherki, under contract until 2026, has dazzled this season, showcasing the form many had long anticipated. The Lyon academy product, who initially struggled to cement his place in the first team, now seems indispensable. Across all competitions, the Frenchman has racked up five goals and seven assists in 17 appearances, with three goals and three assists coming from Ligue 1 alone.
Lyon, however, are in a financial bind. Their precarious league standing and urgent need for funds have forced the club to reconsider their stance. While they value their star at €30 million, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are lurking, ready to pounce. For now, Cherki remains Lyon’s heartbeat, but an irresistible offer could see him don new colors in January.
