Rayan Cherki linked with PSG move from Manchester City

Rayan Cherki, the French-Algerian attacking midfielder at Manchester City, has been linked with a move to Paris St-Germain in Ligue 1.

The 23-year-old joined City from Lyon on 10 June 2025 for €36.5m and remains under contract until 30 June 2030. There is no indication that a transfer has been agreed, with the potential move currently reported as a rumour.

Cherki has made a strong start to the 2026-27 Premier League season, scoring three goals and providing two assists in five appearances. He has started in 80% of City’s league matches and has contributed to 38% of the club’s goals in those games.

He has also played in the Champions League and EFL Cup this season, scoring once in his only EFL Cup appearance.

Cherki won the FA Cup and League Cup with Manchester City in 2026, having established himself at Lyon before moving to England. His contract means City are not facing an imminent expiry decision, while his reported market value is €90m.

The possible move would take Cherki back to France, where he began his senior career with Lyon. The latest indication of interest from PSG is dated 4 October 2026, but the available information does not suggest that negotiations have reached an advanced stage.
