Rayan Cherki insists Man City will fight for title to the end
Rayan Cherki says Manchester City are refusing to give up on the Premier League title race as they chase leaders Arsenal heading into the final stretch of the season.
Manchester City host Brentford this weekend knowing a win would cut the gap at the top, with Pep Guardiola’s side still holding a game in hand.
Cherki stressed that the squad are locked in on a simple approach: focus on each match and demand the maximum from themselves every single day.
“It’s focusing on every game. To be determined every second of the week, every moment we’re on the pitch, so that we can improve and be even better at the weekend,” he said. He admitted the Premier League is “not an easy league” and “complicated,” which is why City’s mindset is to never let up and collect as many points as possible before the season ends.
“As long as there’s hope, there’s life, so we’re not going to give up,” Cherki added, outlining the team’s target of winning every game, keeping clean sheets and scoring goals. He insisted nothing has changed in City’s mentality since the Club World Cup.
