Rayan Ait-Nouri determined to make his mark at Manchester City this season

Rayan Ait-Nouri has offered an honest reflection on his first season at Manchester City, admitting that an early injury made his start far from ideal but insisting he is now fully focused on leaving his mark.

The Algerian left-back was sidelined for around two months at the beginning of the campaign, a spell that disrupted his rhythm just as he was trying to settle into life at a new club.

“Honestly, I had an injury at the beginning of the season that kept me off the pitch for two months, which didn’t help. But I worked really hard to get back on the field,” he said, explaining how he approached his recovery.

“The most important thing is to be as effective as possible and to be ready at any moment,” he added, underlining the standards expected at the Etihad.

“In big clubs, you have to be prepared. So I work every day in training to play as many matches as possible, to be at my best and to have an impact on the team,” Ait-Nouri stressed.

So far this season, he has made 17 appearances and provided two assists, with his involvement also affected by time away on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations.
