England forward Marcus Rashford has confirmed he is leaving Barcelona at the end of his loan spell, posting an emotional farewell message after the Spanish club opted not to trigger the option to buy him from Manchester United.

Rashford, who joined Barcelona on loan from Old Trafford for the season, used his social media accounts to announce that his time at the Camp Nou is over, with the Catalan side deciding against making the move permanent.

The 26-year-old expressed his gratitude to everyone at the club and described his stint in La Liga as one of the standout chapters of his career.

“I am extremely grateful to everyone at the club for making my time here such a positive and unforgettable experience,” Rashford wrote. “I enjoyed every moment and will keep so many special memories.”
