Rapide Oued Zem sign Morocco defender Abderrahim Khaddou

Morocco centre-back Abderrahim Khaddou has joined Rapide Oued Zem, returning to the club after leaving Beni Mellal earlier in 2026.

The 36-year-old defender was without a club before making the move and brings extensive experience of Moroccan football to Rapide Oued Zem. Khaddou has made 156 appearances in the Botola Pro Inwi, scoring six goals, while also featuring six times in the Coupe du Trone Marocaine.

Khaddou previously represented Rapide Oued Zem between January 2020 and August 2023. He moved to the club from KACM Marrakech on a free transfer before later switching to RCA Zemamra, also without a transfer fee.

His most recent club was Beni Mellal, whom he joined from RCA Zemamra in August 2025. That spell ended in January 2026, leaving Khaddou unattached until his return to Rapide Oued Zem.

The Casablanca-born player has spent his career in Morocco and has also played for KACM Marrakech, CR Al Hoceima, MAS Fes, Hassania, JS Massira, Wifaq Bouznika and Benslimane. His move to Rapide Oued Zem marks a return to a club where he had already established himself over more than three seasons.

At 1.92m, Khaddou offers a substantial presence in central defence. He is right-footed and has spent the majority of his career playing as a centre-back, with his top-flight experience coming entirely in the Moroccan league.

Khaddou’s career has included free transfers between several Moroccan clubs, including moves from CR Al Hoceima to KACM Marrakech, MAS Fes to CR Al Hoceima and Hassania to MAS Fes. His latest switch is different in that it follows a period out of the game rather than a move directly from another club.

Rapide Oued Zem have now secured the services of an experienced Moroccan defender who already knows the club and its footballing environment. Khaddou completed his return on 18 September 2026.
