Barcelona winger Raphinha has been crowned LaLiga Player of the Season for 2024/25 after a stellar campaign that saw him edge past high-profile contenders Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappé.
The Brazilian attacker played a pivotal role in guiding Barça to the league title with a blend of consistency, flair and end-product that ultimately swayed the decision in his favour.
Despite fierce competition from Mbappé, whose Cameroonian and Algerian roots add to his global appeal, and Yamal, the teenage sensation of Equatorial Guinean descent, Raphinha emerged as the standout performer.
While Mbappé netted 31 times and contributed three assists in his debut LaLiga season with Real Madrid, and Yamal dazzled with moments of brilliance throughout, it was Raphinha’s overall contribution that proved decisive.
The 28-year-old ended the campaign with 18 goals and 11 assists, delivering in key moments for Hansi Flick’s side.
One of his defining performances came in the season’s final El Clásico, where he scored twice in a dramatic 4-3 victory at the Santiago Bernabéu — a result that effectively sealed the title for Barcelona.
Though Raphinha secured only one Player of the Month accolade across the season, his sustained excellence and reliability in high-stakes fixtures ensured he remained central to Barcelona’s title charge.
