Raphael Odogwu: Italy-Nigeria forward linked with surprise move from Sudtirol to Treviso

Italy-Nigeria centre-forward Raphael Odogwu, currently at Serie B side Sudtirol, is being linked with a summer move to Serie C outfit Treviso. The 35-year-old, under contract with Sudtirol until June 2027, is understood to be attracting interest as Treviso look to add experience to their attacking options ahead of the new campaign.

Odogwu has been a key figure for Sudtirol since arriving from Virtus Verona in 2020, a free transfer that coincided with the club’s rise through the divisions. He helped Sudtirol claim the Serie C Group A title in 2021-22, a success that paved the way for their current spell in Serie B.

With a reported market valuation of around €250,000 as of early June, any deal for Odogwu would likely require Treviso to negotiate a fee rather than wait for his contract to run down. The forward has extensive experience across Italy’s lower leagues and has made 134 appearances in Serie B, scoring 25 goals and providing 18 assists.

Born in Verona and standing at 1.88m, the left-footed striker has spent the bulk of his career in northern Italy, featuring prominently in both Serie C and Serie D before establishing himself at Sudtirol. His combination of physical presence and familiarity with the divisions Treviso operate in is thought to be a major factor in their interest.

Sudtirol, for their part, face a decision over whether to cash in on a veteran attacker who remains under contract for another season beyond the coming campaign, or retain him as an experienced option for their ongoing Serie B ambitions.
