Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer is set to begin a new chapter in France after agreeing to join Ligue 1 side OGC Nice.
The 23-year-old Ghanaian attacker leaves Hamburg with a heavy heart but a hopeful step forward in his rising career.
According to French journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Konigsdorffer and Nice have already sealed personal terms. Talks between HSV and the French club are almost complete, with Hamburg expected to receive six million euros for the player, who was under contract until 2026.
While the transfer makes financial sense for the German side, it comes at a sporting cost. Konigsdorffer was one of HSV’s brightest stars last season, regularly delivering goals and sharp performances that gave fans reason to believe in a Bundesliga return.
His departure now leaves a gap in the club’s attack, just as preparations for the new campaign intensify. Still, the move signals a major step up for Konigsdorffer, who will look to shine on a bigger European stage with Nice.
Hamburg may be losing a key man, but Königsdörffer’s journey is just getting started.
