Ramy Bensebaini and Serhou Guirassy ready for Borussia Dortmund’s game against Stuttgart
Borussia Dortmund defender Ramy Bensebaini made good use of the international break to focus on his recovery.
Instead of joining the Algerian national team, since Algeria had already secured their World Cup spot and Bensebaini was dealing with back problems from earlier in the month, he stayed in Dortmund for an individual training program.
The Dortmund coaches are hopeful that Bensebaini will join the team’s full training sessions during the week. If all goes well, he could be included in the lineup for the upcoming home match against VfB Stuttgart. However, given squad options and his recent rest, it’s not certain he’ll be in the starting eleven.
On the other hand, Serhou Guirassy also took the opportunity to remain in Dortmund rather than join his national side. Much like Bensebaini, Guirassy followed a tailored training routine to manage his workload. Unlike Bensebaini, he joined the full team practice by Wednesday and is expected to be available with no questions over his starting place for the crucial Bundesliga clash.
Both players’ fitness is a good sign for Dortmund as they prepare for Stuttgart’s visit this weekend.
