Ghanaian left-back Ramdas Essel has joined German side 1.FC Burg on a free transfer from TSV Grolland. The 32-year-old defender moves into the Landesliga Bremen set-up after finalising his switch on 9 July 2026.

Essel, who was born in Accra and stands at 1.84m, is an experienced specialist at left-back and provides a left-footed option in Burgs back line. His arrival strengthens a squad competing in the Landesliga Bremen, with the club adding a player who has already accumulated significant minutes in regional football.

Across his time in Germany, Essel has built up more than 70 league appearances in the Landesliga Bremen and Bremenliga combined, contributing two goals and logging over 5,700 minutes on the pitch. He also has experience in the Bremenpokal, underlining his familiarity with the regional competitions in which Burg are active.

The move marks the latest step in a well-travelled career at semi-professional level. Before rejoining TSV Grolland in early 2026, Essel had spells with VfL 07 Bremen and Woltmershausen, establishing himself in the Bremen football scene. Earlier in his career, he played for Vic and UD Taradell, adding experience in different footballing environments before settling in northern Germany.

Essel arrives at 1.FC Burg as a free agent from TSV Grolland, completing a permanent move into the Landesliga Bremen clubs defensive unit.
