Ramadan Sobhi remains at the center of a high-stakes doping controversy, with Egypt’s Anti-Doping Organisation (EADO) refuting recent reports and reaffirming their stance on the matter.
The footballer, who plays for Pyramids FC, is currently under investigation following allegations of doping and sample tampering.
On Wednesday, EADO issued a statement denying claims of new developments in the case, which is set to be reviewed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on May 19. The case, originally filed by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), challenges the decision to lift Sobhi’s suspension after his hearing.
EADO emphasized that the case remains open and is progressing through proper legal channels. They also urged the public to rely on the official WADA website for updates, while questioning the accuracy of some recent reports.
The organization assured that Egyptian sports face no anti-doping risks, adding that Egypt ranks among the top globally for compliance in doping regulations.
This latest statement leaves the football community awaiting CAS’s final verdict on the fate of the 27-year-old winger.
