Ramadan Sobhi slapped with four-year ban over alleged manipulation of doping sample
Egyptian forward Ramadan Sobhi has been handed a four-year ban by the Court of Arbitration for Sport following allegations that he manipulated his doping sample.
The ruling was communicated to Pyramids FC and the Egyptian Football Association by the Egyptian Anti-Doping Organisation after irregularities were detected during routine testing.
The case originated when Sobhi’s sample was found to contain abnormalities deemed incompatible with a genuine human sample, raising suspicions of interference or the use of a prohibited method.
Although his provisional suspension was lifted in July 2024, the Court of Arbitration for Sport has now delivered a definitive verdict that imposes a long-term ban on the winger.
Sobhi retains the right to appeal the decision before the Swiss Federal Court, offering a potential final avenue to challenge the ruling.
Checks from sources indicate that the Egyptian player plans to file an appeal in the coming weeks.
