Rakow consider move for Udinese midfielder Rui Modesto

Angolan-Portuguese midfielder Rui Modesto is the subject of a reported move from Udinese to Polish club Rakow.

The 26-year-old right midfielder is being linked with a switch from Serie A to the Ekstraklasa, with the possibility of a transfer emerging on 24 August.

Modesto has made no appearances for Udinese in the opening Serie A or Coppa Italia fixtures of the 2026-27 season. He returned to the Italian club at the end of June after spending the second half of the previous campaign on loan at Palermo.

Udinese signed Modesto from Swedish side AIK on 30 August 2024. He agreed a contract running until 30 June 2029, meaning the club would remain in control of his registration should discussions with Rakow progress.

The player began his senior career in Portugal before moving to Finland, where he won the Finnish League Cup with FC Honka in 2022. He joined AIK in February 2023 and moved to Udinese 18 months later.

Modesto’s reported transfer would represent a move into Polish football after his spells in Italy and Sweden, but there has been no confirmation that an agreement has been reached between Rakow and Udinese. For now, he remains an Udinese player under contract through June 2029.
