The move will see the young defender begin his first professional experience outside Morocco after the three parties reached an agreement over the transfer during the current summer window.

Raja receive transfer fee for defender
Raja will also collect around 250 million centimes from the sale of Mchakhchakh’s contract, providing the Casablanca club with an important financial return from the transfer.
The defender made 32 official appearances for Raja before his move to Azerbaijan.
His appearances included 30 matches in the Moroccan Professional League and Throne Cup, as well as two outings in the African Champions League.
Mchakhchakh starts new chapter in Azerbaijan
The move represents a new stage in the young defender’s career as he leaves the Moroccan domestic league for the first time.
He joins a Zira side that enjoyed a successful 2025-26 campaign, winning the Azerbaijan Cup and finishing fifth in the league.
Zira had also finished as runners-up in the Azerbaijani league in the previous two seasons, in 2024-25 and 2023-24.
Mchakhchakh will now look to establish himself in Azerbaijan after leaving one of Morocco’s leading clubs and beginning his first overseas professional adventure.
