Raja Casablanca are reportedly preparing to part ways with Spanish coach Paco Jémez after another disappointing result in the Botola Pro, with Moroccan coach Abdelkarim Jinani emerging as a potential interim replacement.

The Casablanca club’s latest setback came on Wednesday, when they drew 1-1 with Hassania Agadir in a postponed fifth-round fixture, extending their winless run in the league to three matches.

Hassania took the lead through Amine Azri in the 67th minute before Mathias Oyewusi restored parity for Raja in the 81st minute.

Raja had a chance to claim all three points late in the game, but Adam Ennafati missed a penalty in the 90th minute, leaving the Green Eagles frustrated once again.

The result has increased pressure on Jémez as Raja struggle to meet expectations in the Moroccan top flight.

Raja’s inconsistent start puts Jémez under pressure

Raja have struggled to find consistency in recent league matches, drawing 0-0 with MAS Fez and 1-1 with FUS Rabat before Wednesday’s stalemate against Hassania Agadir.

Their only victory during that run came against Renaissance Zemamra, whom they defeated 1-0.

The results have left Raja 11th in the Botola Pro standings with six points, although they have a postponed fixture against AS FAR still to play.

A difficult meeting with RS Berkane on Sunday also awaits the Casablanca side, adding to the challenges facing the club during a disappointing start to the campaign.

According to reports, Raja’s management has decided to end Jémez’s tenure, with an official announcement regarding his departure expected. However, the club has yet to formally confirm the decision.

Jinani emerges as possible interim replacement

Meanwhile, Raja are reportedly considering Abdelkarim Jinani as a temporary successor while arrangements to terminate Jémez’s contract are finalised.

Radio Mars reports that the Moroccan coach is among the candidates being considered to take charge of the team during the transition.

Jinani’s previous experience with Raja and familiarity with the club are seen as factors that could work in his favour as the Green Eagles consider their next move.

The club face important challenges in both the Botola Pro and the CAF Confederation Cup, making the coaching situation a significant issue as they seek to improve their performances.

With Raja yet to make an official announcement, uncertainty remains over Jémez’s future and who will lead the team through the next phase of the season.
