Raja Athletic Club head coach Fadlu Davids has reportedly tabled a series of requests to the club’s management as preparations ramp up for the highly anticipated Casablanca Derby.

Davids, who recently returned to the Green Eagles on a two-year deal, replaced Lassaad Chabbi after the Tunisian managed just one win and one draw this season before parting ways with the club.

Since taking charge, Davids has made a promising start, leading Raja to a 2-1 victory over Difaa El Jadidi before earning a 1-1 draw with Maghreb de Fès, keeping their unbeaten run intact.

The Green Eagles currently boast two wins and two draws from their opening four Botola Pro League matches.

With the Casablanca Derby looming after the FIFA international break, preparations are entering a crucial phase, although the league is yet to announce the official date of the match.

According to reports in the Moroccan media, Davids has requested that the club organise a training camp outside Casablanca to fine-tune the team’s readiness for upcoming fixtures, beginning with the high-stakes clash against rivals Wydad Athletic Club.

The report adds that the former Maritzburg United boss is seeking a more secluded environment to ensure focus and intensity during training sessions, along with a few friendly matches to help fully instill his tactical philosophy.

Having missed Raja’s pre-season preparations, Davids views this break as a vital window to stamp his identity on the squad. The upcoming derby will serve as an early litmus test for his leadership — and a potential turning point in his bid to win over the club’s passionate supporters.
