Raja Casablanca coach, Lassaad Chabbi has admitted that his team needs to rebuild after failing to secure qualification to compete in Africa next season.
Raj’s chances of playing in Africa next season suffered a huge blow after they drew 0-0 with Ittihad Touarga on Sunday in the Round of 28 games of the Moroccan Professional League.
They now sit 8th on the league log with 42 points, missing out on a chance to catch up with third place and qualify for the Confederation Cup.
“We made a huge effort to reach this stage. We resisted and tried as much as we could,” Chabbi said in an interview.
“Raja needs new faces and players who fit the team and the ambitions of its fans if it wants to return to winning championships.
“Preparations for next season should start now. Raja fans are very frustrated, and that is their right.
He concluded, “The team cannot be blamed. The performance has improved, and the proof is Raja’s course correction since I took over the mission.”
