Raja Casablanca, under the guidance of German coach Josef Zinnbauer, has concluded the first leg of the Moroccan championship with commendable results, securing the leading position in the Pro League.
Despite occasional criticism, Zinnbauer’s position remains intact, courtesy of the team’s management led by President Mohamed Boudrika, ensuring the technical stability of the “Eagles.”
Raja Casablanca successfully wrapped up the first leg in the top spot with 33 points, boasting nine victories and six draws without a single defeat.
This impressive record affirms the team’s promising trajectory towards clinching the championship shield this season amid fierce competition from other leading clubs.
The “Green Team” has demonstrated its prowess as the second strongest offensive force, scoring 27 goals while conceding only 10.
Noteworthy victories include a recent “Derby” match against arch-rival Wydad Casablanca, securing a 2-0 win, and a dominant 6-0 triumph over Union Tangier.
The club has already announced acquisitions such as Ivorian Herve Gay and Bolivian striker Victor Abrego, with further efforts to strengthen its roster during the ongoing winter transfer window.
It is worth mentioning that Raja Casablanca loaned second-choice goalkeeper Mohamed Baaiou to Chabab Rif Al Hoceima, while defender Mohamed Sobol moved to Bastia in the French market during the winter transfer window.
Meanwhile, the match between Maghreb Tetouan and Wydad Casablanca concluded on Sunday, ending in a goalless draw in the 15th round of the Pro League.
The cautious first-half approach from both sides limited the game to midfield play, with few attacking maneuvers that posed a threat to either goal.
The second half maintained a similar tempo, with neither team effectively capitalizing on the opportunities that presented themselves.
Referee Hamza Al Farak eventually blew the final whistle, bringing the match to an end with no winner or loser.
Both teams added one point to their tally after the draw.
Maghreb Tetouan now stands at 20 points in the sixth position, while Wydad Casablanca reached 24 points, securing the fourth spot in the overall standings.
In another match, Olympique Safi drew 1-1 against Moghreb Fes at the Green March Stadium in Safi.
Diarra Abdoulaye scored for Olympique Safi in the 12th minute, and Imad Erriahi equalized for Moghreb Fes with a penalty in the 54th minute.
Following this result, Olympique Safi shares the sixth position with Maghreb Tetouan, both accumulating 20 points, while Moghreb Fes rises to the ninth position with 18 points.
The 15th round will continue on Monday with two more matches, one between Chabab Sahel and Youssoufia Berrechid, and the other featuring FUS Rabat against Royal Armed Forces (FAR).
