Raja Casablanca complete free transfer for Ghana midfielder Michael Agbekpornu
Ghanaian midfielder Michael Agbekpornu has joined Moroccan club Raja Casablanca from Spanish side SD Huesca on a free transfer. The 27-year-old central midfielder has signed a contract running until 30 June 2029 and will wear the Raja colours in the Botola Pro Inwi.
Agbekpornu moves to Casablanca after a brief spell with Huesca, having joined the Spanish club from Croatia’s Slaven Belupo in February 2026 for €150,000. His switch to Raja was completed on 22 August 2026, marking the latest stage of a career that has taken him across Ghana, Albania, Croatia and Spain.
The Accra-born player began his senior career with Dreams FC before moving to Albanian club KF Egnatia in July 2021 on a free transfer. He helped Egnatia win the Albanian Cup in the 2022-23 season, making the club his first side outside Ghana.
Agbekpornu subsequently moved to Slaven Belupo in July 2023 for €150,000. During his career, he has recorded 63 appearances in Croatia’s SuperSport HNL and 49 in Albania’s Kategoria Superiore. He has also played in England’s Premier League competition, LaLiga2 and domestic cup competitions in Albania and Croatia.
The right-footed midfielder stands 1.88m tall and joins Raja with experience of playing in several European leagues. His career record includes one goal and seven assists in the SuperSport HNL, along with one goal and one assist in the Kategoria Superiore.
His move to Raja brings him into Moroccan football after his time in Spain. Huesca had been Agbekpornu’s most recent club, following his arrival earlier in 2026, but the Ghanaian has now agreed a long-term contract with the Casablanca side.
Raja Club Athletic have secured Agbekpornu without a transfer fee, and the midfielder’s new deal keeps him at the club until the end of June 2029.
