Fadlu Davids refuses to rule out PSL return

Fadlu Davids has kept the possibility of a return to South Africa’s Premier Soccer League (PSL) alive, while insisting that his immediate focus remains firmly on his current role with Raja Club Athletic.

The South African-born tactician, who has built his reputation across the continent with coaching spells in countries such as Tanzania, acknowledged that a return home is always on the table—given his deep familiarity with the PSL and its competitive landscape.

Speaking on a Metro FM Sports show, Davids reflected on his long-standing connection with South African football and did not dismiss the idea of making a comeback in the future.

“Of course there’s always a possibility at home,” he said.

“The PSL, we know it inside and out. Not only we’re following it but having been there for the last decade or more.”

Davids, who has previously been involved with clubs in South Africa, emphasized that his experience and understanding of the league could naturally lead to a return at some point. However, he was quick to stress that his current priorities lie elsewhere.

“There’s always a possibility to come back but at the moment, we love our club, we’re happy where we are,” he explained.

Currently at the helm of Raja Casablanca, one of Africa’s most storied clubs, Davids is fully immersed in a demanding project that comes with high expectations and the constant pursuit of silverware.

“Trying to achieve our targets is a big, big challenge. We’ll do everything in our power to be there and lift the trophy at the end of the season,” he said, underlining his commitment to delivering success.

Raja, known for their passionate fanbase and rich history, present a unique and pressure-filled environment—one that Davids appears to be embracing as he continues to grow his coaching credentials on the continental stage.

Despite the speculation surrounding his future, Davids made it clear that there are no immediate plans to move, reaffirming his dedication to the task at hand.

“To answer your question, there’s always a possibility but right now we’re really, really focused on our project at hand.”

For now, Davids remains committed to making an impact with Raja Casablanca, but his comments will undoubtedly spark interest back home, where PSL clubs may be keeping a close eye on one of South Africa’s most respected coaching talents.
