Raja AC part ways with sporting director Rogério Matias
Raja Club Athletic have announced the departure of Portuguese sporting director Rogério Matias after reaching a mutual agreement to terminate his contract, as the Moroccan giants continue to restructure their sporting and technical departments.
The decision was confirmed on Tuesday following a meeting between the club’s management and Matias, bringing his spell at the Casablanca-based outfit to an end.
In an official statement, Raja also confirmed that the separation agreement extends to the assistant sporting director, with both parties agreeing to end their contractual relationship.
The club, however, did not disclose specific reasons behind the decision or provide further details regarding the termination agreements.
Matias’ departure represents another significant change within Raja’s sporting structure, coming shortly after the club parted ways with Spanish coach Paco Jémez.
The decision to dismiss Jémez was part of an ongoing series of changes within the club’s technical department, with the latest development suggesting that the restructuring is now extending to the management responsible for sporting operations.
The successive departures come at a crucial period for Raja, who are expected to make further decisions regarding the direction of the club as they seek to achieve their competitive objectives.
In its statement, the club reaffirmed its commitment to working with diligence and responsibility in the coming period, insisting that its focus remains on achieving its established goals and meeting the expectations of its supporters.
Attention will now turn to the next appointments and decisions within Raja’s management as the Moroccan club looks to stabilise its sporting structure following the latest changes.
