TURKEY: RAÏS MBOLHI SIGNS FOR ANTALYASPOR
Algerian international Raïs Mbolhi has officially joined Antalyaspor in the Turkish Süper Lig, putting an end to his struggles following a disappointing spell in the United States.
The 2014 World Cup standout goalkeeper, released by Philadelphia Union (MLS), underwent a trial at Bolton Wanderers last week but instead opted for a three-year deal with the ambitious Turkish club, which also boasts Samuel Eto’o among its ranks.
“I’m very happy to be here in Turkey where I signed for Antalyaspor. It’s a source of pride for me to play for this club. I know the management has shown confidence in me. I promise the fans that I’ll give my all to live up to the promise,” said Mbolhi after finalizing the move.
At 29 years old, Mbolhi now looks to relaunch his club career in a competitive European league after becoming surplus to requirements in MLS. Antalyaspor, recently promoted to the top flight, will count on his experience and leadership between the posts.
