Rahimo FC set for Fes test after Super Cup triumph

Rahimo FC will begin their CAF Champions League campaign in Morocco next week, just seven days after winning the Supercoupe AJSB.

The Burkina Faso champions are due to leave Bobo-Dioulasso on 2 September for their preliminary-round tie against MAS de Fes. The match is scheduled for 6 September at 20:00 GMT, when Rahimo FC will attempt to carry the momentum from their domestic success into the African competition.

The club, based in Bama, will not travel directly to Morocco. Their journey will begin with a stop in Abidjan before the squad boards a flight to Casablanca. The team is expected to arrive in the Moroccan city on 3 September.

From Casablanca, Rahimo FC will continue the final stage of their trip by road, travelling by bus to Fes. The Moroccan city is approximately 300 kilometres from Casablanca.

The fixture against MAS de Fes represents Rahimo FC’s return to the African stage after their Supercoupe AJSB victory. That triumph came only a week before the side was due to depart for Morocco, giving the Burkina Faso champions an immediate opportunity to build on their winning run.

Rahimo FC will therefore face a demanding schedule, combining international travel with preparation for a decisive preliminary-round encounter. Their route will take them from Bobo-Dioulasso to Abidjan, then by air to Casablanca and finally by bus to Fes before the match.

The 6 September meeting will be played in the evening, with kick-off set for 20:00 GMT. Rahimo FC will be seeking a result that keeps their CAF Champions League campaign moving forward, while MAS de Fes await them at the end of their journey.

For the Burkina Faso champions, the trip comes at a significant moment. Their success in the Supercoupe AJSB has provided the latest evidence of their ability to compete domestically, but the preliminary tie against MAS de Fes will now provide an early test of that form on the continental stage.

Rahimo FC’s departure from Bobo-Dioulasso on 2 September will mark the start of the club’s route towards Fes and the first leg of their African challenge. After arriving in Morocco on 3 September and completing the road journey from Casablanca, the team will have three days before the scheduled match.

The club will hope that their recent Supercoupe AJSB success can help them maintain their momentum when they face MAS de Fes in the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
