Raheem Sterling admits dangerous driving and nitrous oxide possession

Former England forward Raheem Sterling has admitted driving dangerously in a Lamborghini after a road traffic collision in which nobody was injured.

Sterling appeared at a magistrates’ court on Tuesday morning, where he admitted the dangerous driving offence on a motorway. He also admitted possessing six canisters of nitrous oxide, an intoxicating gas commonly associated with laughter.

The incident took place on 28 May and involved Sterling’s Lamborghini. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

Sky Sports News reported that the 31-year-old was questioned at the magistrates’ court before appearing for the hearing.

Sterling is currently without a club after his contract with Dutch side Feyenoord came to an end. He previously played for Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal during a senior career that also included a loan spell at Arsenal before he returned to Chelsea.

He began his professional career at Liverpool before moving to Manchester City. Sterling later joined Chelsea and subsequently went out on loan to Arsenal, before returning to Chelsea.

At international level, Sterling won 82 caps for England and scored 20 goals. He also represented the national team at three World Cups and two European Championships.
