Ragnar Ache has resumed team training at FC Koln as the striker continues his recovery from a muscular injury ahead of the club’s Bundesliga meeting with Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

According to GEISSBLOG, the 28-year-old has returned to training with his teammates but still needs additional time to regain full fitness after his spell on the sidelines.

Ache was consequently unavailable for Koln’s 1-1 draw against Union Berlin on Sunday, with head coach René Wagner opting not to include him in the matchday squad because of his lack of match fitness.

The German striker had previously suffered a muscular injury during a friendly against Viktoria Köln, forcing him to miss several competitive fixtures.

Despite his return to training, Köln are keen to manage his recovery carefully and avoid rushing him back into action.

His availability for the upcoming Bundesliga encounter against Bayer Leverkusen remains uncertain. However, the club are hopeful that a full week of training could put him in contention for the fixture on November 8.

Ache’s return would provide a welcome boost to Köln’s attacking options as they prepare for an important regional derby against their neighbours.
