Rafiu Durosinmi: Nigeria striker joins Genk from Pisa in €10.5m deal
Nigeria forward Rafiu Durosinmi has joined Belgian side Genk from Italian club Pisa in a permanent €10.5m transfer. The 23-year-old centre-forward has signed a contract with the Jupiler Pro League club until 30 June 2030.
Durosinmi moves after a brief spell in Italy, where he joined Pisa from Viktoria Plzen in January 2026. His rise in European football has been rapid, with the Lagos-born striker establishing himself through his performances in the Czech leagues and in European competitions.
Standing at 1.92m and operating primarily as a central striker, Durosinmi has built a record that includes goals in the Europa League and Champions League qualifying rounds, as well as in the Europa Conference League. Across league and cup competitions, he has registered more than 20 goals in the Czech second tier, along with further strikes in domestic cups and European fixtures.
Before his move to Italy, Durosinmi made his name with Karvina, winning the Czech 2nd Division title in the 2022-23 season. That campaign helped earn him a transfer to Viktoria Plzen in the summer of 2023 after an initial loan spell between the two clubs.
Genk becomes the latest step in a journey that began in Europe with Karvina’s youth set-up following his move from Nigerian side Box2Box FC in 2021. The Belgian club have now secured Durosinmi’s services on a long-term deal running through to 2030.
