Rafik Belghali attracts interest from Serie A quartet after Hellas Verona relegation
Rafik Belghali is expected to leave Hellas Verona this summer after the club’s relegation to Serie B, with several leading European sides reportedly monitoring the Algeria international.
According to Maghreb-Foot, the 24-year-old right-back is unlikely to continue with the Italian club and his departure is now considered a matter of time. However, Belghali’s next destination remains uncertain, with no interested club having made a concrete offer so far.
The player’s performances for Hellas Verona and Algeria have attracted attention across Europe. Inter Milan, Juventus, AC Milan and Napoli are all understood to be interested in his profile, according to an exclusive report by Africafoot.
Newcastle United and Olympique de Marseille have also reportedly joined the group of clubs considering a move for the defender.
Despite the growing list of potential suitors, negotiations have been complicated by Hellas Verona’s valuation. The club are believed to want about €15m before allowing Belghali to leave, a figure that interested parties are reportedly finding difficult to meet.
That asking price has so far prevented the transfer from progressing, with none of the clubs linked with the player yet ready to commit to a formal bid.
A source close to Belghali has confirmed that, despite the uncertainty over his next club, the Algeria international is expected to leave Verona during the summer transfer window.
His current market value is estimated at €12m by Transfermarkt, which represents the highest valuation of his career to date. Hellas Verona’s €15m demand is therefore above that assessment, adding another obstacle to a possible agreement.
Belghali’s recent season has strengthened his reputation, with the defender impressing both at club level and with the Algeria national team. He is consequently expected to be one of the players attracting significant attention during the final weeks of the transfer market.
Hellas Verona are due to face Virtus Entella in the first round of the Coppa Italia soon. Ahead of that fixture, betting company 1xBet lists Hellas Verona at 1.65 to win, with the draw priced at 3.75 and a Virtus Entella victory at 5.09.
The match will take place as Hellas Verona prepare for life in Serie B, while the club also considers the possibility of losing one of its most sought-after players. For now, Belghali’s future remains unresolved, with the €15m valuation likely to determine whether any of the interested clubs make a serious move.
