Rafael Leao’s AC Milan exit stalls as Fenerbahce intensify transfer push

Fenerbahce have intensified their pursuit of AC Milan forward Rafael Leao as the Portugal international’s hopes of securing a move to one of Europe’s top leagues continue to fade.

Leao is widely expected to leave the Serie A club before the close of the transfer window after making it clear he is ready to take the next step in his career.

The 27-year-old has been linked with several high-profile clubs across England and Europe, but none of the reported interest has progressed into a formal bid.

The lack of concrete offers has significantly narrowed the winger’s options, opening the door for Fenerbahce to position themselves at the front of the race for his signature.

Fenerbahce ready to make their move

Leao has previously acknowledged his desire to leave Milan, saying he wants a “new challenge” and would prefer a move to either the Premier League or LaLiga.

Despite speculation linking him with several elite clubs, those rumours have so far failed to translate into genuine transfer interest, leaving the Portuguese attacker with fewer opportunities than anticipated.

That situation has strengthened Fenerbahce’s position as they look to pull off one of the biggest signings of the Turkish transfer window.
