Rafael Leao transfer: Aston Villa weigh move for AC Milan winger

Portuguese winger Rafael Leao, currently at AC Milan, has been linked with a move to Aston Villa in the Premier League.

The 27-year-old is valued at €50m, while the reported likelihood of a move currently stands at 8%. Leao remains under contract with Milan until 30 June 2028, meaning Villa would need to negotiate a permanent transfer rather than wait for his deal to expire.

Leao has yet to make an appearance for Milan in Serie A this season, having been involved in one possible league match. He made five appearances for Portugal at the 2026 World Cup, scoring once and providing one assist.

The left winger joined Milan from Lille in August 2019 for a reported €49.5m. He has since won the Serie A title with the Italian club in 2021-22 and was named Serie A Player of the Year in the same campaign.

Leao’s previous honours also include the 2025 Nations League with Portugal and the Italian Super Cup in 2024-25. He is listed as a right-footed left winger and has been at Milan since the start of the 2019-20 season.

Any move to Villa would take him from Serie A to the Premier League, but his existing Milan contract means the Italian club retain his registration and control over his immediate future.
